The Arboricultural Association provide some useful guidance for the layman on how, why and when to prune trees. If you're thinking of getting any of your trees pruned, either by doing it yourself or by a professional tree surgeon, take a look at the recommendations for which time of year to prune your species of tree before having them worked on in order to give your trees the best chance of recovering well and staying healthy and strong.
